Cozzie livs & canteens: ‘Cozzie livs’, a light-hearted term for the cost-of-living crisis was the 2023 Macquarie Dictionary word of the year. But how is ‘Cozzie livs’ affecting our school canteens? Families and small businesses are under pressure, our three amazing guest speakers will share their canteen tips to remain viable.

1. Cre Millar, Canteen Supervisor Applecross Senior High School – the school calendar is filled with events and meetings that need your special skills. Making food is what you do and Cre will share her experience about making money from catering
2. Tracy Skipworth, WASCA Administration Officer – from batch cooking to freezing tips to effective costing formulas, Tracy’s 20 plus years’ experience in canteens means she has a wealth of information about running a viable business
3. Megan Sauzier, WASCA CEO – WASCA’s Benchmark Survey results are in – compare how your canteen is tracking, what you can do to manage canteen income and expenses and how to negotiate to get the best deal for your canteen.
